Should You Use an Mp3 Player, Read the Newspaper Or Watch TV When You Exercise?

Here's a question that I recently addressed:Hello Virgil. Recently you wrote that people should not use cell phones, MP3 players or read when they exercise. My question for you then is If using a cell phone, an MP3 player or reading the paper can motivate someone to exercise or at least help them get through a workout then why are you so against that?First of all thank you for your question and here goes:In a perfect scenario I'd always like someone to exercise with as much focus on themselves and what they are doing. If you are reading the paper, watching TV or listening to music then you can't possibly be focused. For those people that feel they need to read, watch TV or talk on the phone to get them through a workout then exercising might not be the priority you think it is.Also I'm not against it to the point that I would never do it (at least the MP3 player part). Some people simply like to watch TV, read the paper, or talk while they exercise and if it gets them to exercise then that is a good thing.I personally don't train anyone who is not willing to be totally focused: In fact before anyone trains with me they must adhere to strict rules that will ensure their success:People I train understand not to come late, miss workouts, and not to bring their cell phones or a listening device. Watching TV or reading the paper is not even a thought. Many times we barely speak because they are totally focused on the task at hand.Funny thing is I actually had one woman not train with me because she would not agree to my NO CELL PHONE rule. Did she get the results she desired from training on her own? NO! Was it because she used her cell phone too much? Maybe, maybe not.And the biggest problem with all these distractions is that it sets your program up for failure in the long run. In the beginning when your workouts are very easy progress will be okay because these distractions won't keep you from doing your workout. But what happens when you need to take it up a notch. At some point your workouts must get harder in order for you to achieve the results you truly desire. At that point you have to say good bye to these distractions because you simply can't exercise at result producing levels with all these distractions. Are you going to be willing to put these distractions aside or be a hostage to them? That is the question you have to ask of yourself.

The Qualities You Need to Become a Home Health Aide

A home health aide is a trained healthcare professional employed by the family members or friends of a patient in order to provide long-term assistance for the personal and health-related needs of a patient. The job is different from a registered nurse because he or she works only under the supervision and advice of a nurse or therapist who specializes in the condition of the patient. Usually, an aide's services are required for months or years, or for as long as the patient is in need of direct assistance and supervision. What are the duties of a home health aide? The duties an aide must fulfill depend greatly on the health care needs of a patient. How To Replace A Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker Motor

How does the refrigerator ice maker know how to go out in the middle of Summer? That's something to think about while you follow the instructions for how to replace a Whirlpool refrigerator ice maker motor. I'm writing about a Whirlpool refrigerator because that's what I have, that's what broke and that's what I fixed. These directions are for replacing a side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator ice maker motor.Step 1 Before you start tearing your Whirlpool refrigerator apart, check to be sure that the ice maker motor is the problem. First check the plastic water supply tubing to see if water is getting to the ice maker. Then make sure other parts of the refrigerator are getting power. Do the lights come on when you open the door? If these things seem to be working, maybe the ice maker is the culprit.Step 2 HOLD IT! Before you start pulling things apart consider taking some pictures of the ice maker motor assembly. Don't forget you've got to put the thing back together. I use my cellphone for this.Step 3 Hold on one more time! Please step away from the ice maker! Long enough to turn off the power and the water anyway. You probably don't have to turn either of them off but in an article like this I'm supposed be responsible and tell you to do it.Step 4 O. k., go ahead and rip into it. First remove the plastic guard on front of the module. Gently pull the white plastic gear wheel from the axle on the front of the motor assembly. Then use your screwdriver to remove the screws on the corners of the ice maker motor assembly.Step 5 Remove the screws that hold the motor assembly to the inside wall of the refrigerator. Then pull the motor assembly far enough off of the wall to expose and disconnect the power supply wiring harness on the side of the ice maker. Now the motor assembly should be detached. Now you're ready to take the motor assembly to the parts store to show the associate the exact part you want for your Whirlpool refrigerator. Or you could always order it off of eBay and wait for it to be delivered to your house.Step 6 Reconnect the power supply wiring harness to the new motor module. Put the screws back in place on the corners of the motor assembly. Slide the new gear wheel onto the shaft. Reattach the assembly to the inside wall of the refrigerator. Put the guard back on and turn the water and power on. If everything is working properly, you should be able to see and/or hear the ice maker start to fill with water.
